Unemployment: Day 15 (With Bullets)

- It’s my daddy’s birthday. Happy birthday Daddy!
- It’s Brent’s birthday, too. Happy birthday Brent!
- I’m still coasting and I am enjoying it. I’d enjoy it even more if some or all of my friends were also unemployed or had vacation/sick leave they could take.
- I scored my first wedding gig on the 20th. Me! A wedding photographer! I’d be a nervous wreck if my friend Mike didn’t agree to help me shoot it. (Thanks, Mikey.)
- I’ve received messages from people who wrote to say how sorry they are for me and how they can’t imagine life without a career. What do you mean, ‘can’t imagine life without a career’? Some of you need to start living outside the box. Work is not my number one priority and my life is not centered around a career. When I’m on my deathbed I’m positive I’m not going to look back on my life and regretfully say, “I wish I had spent more time at the office.” No way.
- I continue to receive emails with job leads and offers, most of them being in the field of design & photography. This is wonderful! Keep them coming. They make me feel warm and gooey inside.
- This week’s Where Am I? will be posted early Friday morning, probably around 8:00am. I’ve got some plans on Friday and probably won’t be anywhere near a computer around noon.
- With Guam gas prices currently as high as they are, it’s a good time to not be having to drive back and forth to work.
- The most awesome thing on television today (not literally today) is Viking: the Ultimate Obstacle Course Challenge on ESPN2. I hope you catch it. God, I love Japan.

MDA is looking for a full-time designer with Photoshop experience… It’d be awesome to see well designed travel ads and photos in their ads. You’d be a perfect fit!
haha josie i was browsing your ol’ blog and found your entry, http://www.netpci.com/~josie/sampled/journal/0308.html
where you gripe about gas! oh what we would all give for $1.79, even ridiculous $3.00 gas. by the way linking up with your ol entries (and i hope you don’t mind) is really entertaning…like discovering the prequel to an awesome movie! i’m glad you are such a positive person. i have never taken a real vacation or relaxed amidst all my working years…i am indeed envious! even when i got laid off…i found work in less than a week and was seriously bummed about not collecting a check from EHDD!! LOL. keep it coming my dear.
Josie,
I need some camera advice and seeing that you have some free time on your hands … š
I’m thinking about getting a new digital camera before I go to the Philippines this summer. I currently have a Nikon Coolpix 3200 and have been pretty happy with it. I think the colors come out pretty nicely, and it’s really easy for a novice like me to use. But of course I would love more megapixels, zoom, etc. Anyway, I really admire your pictures and would love your advice: What digital camera under $300 would you recommend? Under $500?
Thanks, and I really love reading your blog!
Glad to see that your enjoying your time off. I miss those days. š I’m sure the wedding photos will be awesome.
