Tokyo: Day 1

It’s been raining all night and it’s cold but I’m not complaining because it’s not nearly as cold as it was in Osaka last year. It took a little over an hour to get to the hostel from the airport…the hostel is fabulous by the way. It’s within walking distance of a bunch of things in Asakusa and that means money saved on transport. Breakfast is 350 yen, all you can eat toast & jam, coffee/tea and soup. Totally awesome because I could eat toast all day. All day!

Thanksgiving dinner was chicken cutlet at a small joint down the street.
Other than that I don’t have a whole lot to report. It was way too cold and rainy to venture out tonight. But the sun’ll come out tomorrow. So the front desk guy says.
Hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving.
Wish you were here.

I could eat toast all day. It proves that man really can live on bread alone.

When I was in Japan briefly for a layover, what struck me the most were the cute cartoonish signs like the one in your picture. LOL! It’s so much better being told that you can’t do this or that when it’s a cartoon. I love Japanese design aesthetics!

I can think of a cool photo kicker: “No butts allowed.”
    heheh.
Have a great time in Japan! Sorry I couldn’t give you that book I kept mentioning, but it seems like you’re covered.
Can’t wait to see your Harajuku pictures!
