These Dreams
I dreamt I was in a car accident. I was driving to see a friend and overshot a turn and my car went flying off a cliff. I told the paramedics I felt fine, but upon further examination they ascertained that my feet had been crushed in the accident. “Will my insurance cover this?” was all I asked.
Then I woke up.
I noticed that in any dream I have in which I’m in some sort of crisis, I don’t panic or freak out. I often dream about my teeth and hair falling out. It happens slowly and casually: I’ll be talking to someone and my tooth just loosens and falls out. But I just keep going on in my conversation not missing a beat. I wonder if this means anything.
OMG Josie!! I know exaxctly what you’re talking about. I thought I was the only one who had the dream about the teeth, but my dreams instead of them falling out, they crumble in my mouth like roskette (or polvorone)while I’m talking. I wonder if anyone else has the teeth dream???
Wasn’t there some post over at girlstatic about some definition of dreams. I think the link covered teeth.
I’ve had millions of teeth dreams. I’ve ground them until they became soft like some beef paste mix out of a Taco Bell burrito, I’ve had them all dangling by a thread and had a baby hit them to make something that sounded like “September” by Earth Wind and Fire, and I’m expecting World War III to play out in my mouth sooner or later.
Constant dreaming of losing your teeth signifies an subconscious fear that you are slowly losing control of your life, an increasing anxiety of powerlessness to invisible forces in your life. It also can mean that you often care deeply about how others perceive you, as a person’s smile is often one of the first things you notice about another.
i know that we have talked about these teeth dreams a LOT. BUT i still cannot believe that you don’t panic. i constantly try to reinsert them myself or try some other crazy remedy that my friends tell me in my dreams. girl, youre impressive even in your dreams!
I’ve had car accident dreams before. But it usually means I should stop watching Too Fast Too Furious before I go to sleep.
craziness… i haven’t had any teeth dreams just whatever horror movie i would watch before bedtime… normally i would be the one being attacked.. craziness.. i remember watching gothika the first time, i had nightmares i was being posessed and i killed somebody.. pure craziness..
i had a lot of teeth dreams in the past- crumbling, like LeeAnn’s. and like Julie, i try to reinsert them. remedy the problem as fast and as discreetly as i can. I don’t want the people to see me smile without teeth- exactly like what Gene Park described.
i don’t remember the last time i had one.
I haven’t had dreams like that. But I have had dreams of snakes. Millions of them, wrapped around me. Freaky stuff.
