The new toy is here
My new iBook arrived last night. It’s bigger than I expected. It’s a sexy machine. Very, very sexy.
I am one step closer to wireless. Just waiting for the airport base station to come in. Do you know if I can network a mac and a pc using airport? We want to have the machines at home share the cable connection but I don’t know what I’ll need to make it happen. Your suggestions would be very helpful as I’m not knowledgable in that area.
Buying this suped-up iBook on eBay saved me $600 from the Apple Store online. God bless eBay.
I’m not sure, but I think it is possible for the 2 to share the same connection.
The beauty about wireless… you only need one base. Check out the setup at Java Junction — One Base. Multiple computers, MACs and PCs all sharing the same BASE. I’m sure there’s a tech geek out there with the answer. CONGRATS ON THE IBOOK. I’ve got a PowerBook G4 and love it! My G5 should be here next week.
i’m green with envy! one day, i hope to make the switch at home.
You can totally share your cable connection between your mac and pc using airport. That is the setup I have at work. We even have a commingling of wireless and wired machines. You shouldn’t need any other hardware. The airport base station has a router built-in. Will your PC need to be wireless too?
Thanks for the info, Vanessa. The pc will not be wireless.
