Skip a beat and move with my body

Hearing that Kylie Minogue has been diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 36 came as a real shock to me, not just because she’s a foxy celebrity, but because my doctor told me I don’t have to worry about getting a mammogram until I turn 40. Yowza. I guess that’s something I’ll need to bring up at my next appointment.

At our age it is extremely rare to have any breast cancer. Which is why routine mammograms aren’t recommended until the age of 40. Unfortunatly, Kylie’s case was a rare one. What’s even more unfortunate is that when younger women develop breast cancer, it’s usually an agressive variety. If anything, at your age, you should be really religious in doing periodic breast self examinations.

Oh yeah, routine mammagroms are usually started at an earlier age if there is a positive family history.
