Pack Up the Guns & Make Way For Two Lovers Towers
I’m sad to see one of my favorite beaches go.
So by my count that leaves just two public beach parks/areas in Tumon…Ypao and Matapang. There aren’t any facilities or shelters at Gun Beach, but locals have been camping and hanging out there since ever since. I was just there on Sunday swimming and chilling under a coconut tree. Those days are numbered now.
🙁
I was pretty sad to hear the news too. Gun beach wasn’t ever too crowded without being (too) hard to get to.
bummer.
speaking of island changes, i heard the president of Palau talking about their climate change and The Micronesian Challenge on NPR’s All Things Considered yesterday:

you know, jos, i have not been able to break the news to diego. he’s gonna be super bummed. and i, too, was depressed when i read this. despite the insistence that public beach access will remain.
Stanley Marcus, founder of the retailer Neiman Marcus once said in his book “Quest for the Best” that his favorite Cafe, Cafe Grecco on Via Condotti, down from the Spanish Steps in Rome was a great cafe to hang out in, right up until it got popular! I guess with some real estate the same rules apply. It was a wonderful little beach, until it got developed…Sorry to see the sad 🙁 face Josie. I noticed a recent flurry of activity on my gunbeach.com, guess this tower deal explains it! I knew why hagatnabay was getting hits after the stamp announcement. By the by the stamps were not at my local Post Office in DC, but they are still online from the post office in sheets at: HagÃ¥tña Bay Stamps
I’m glad you were able to create some value from the book 🙂 seemed kinda time sensitive due to your recent promo to “chick in charge”. And to cover all the recent blogs & flickr activity in one clean sweep, hifive on the Patrick CD cover gig!
I know. This was friggin disappointing to hear too. I wish they would turn it into a locally recognized park, but I believe the owners of the land were waiting all this time to sell it.
i am sad about gun beach too. what happened was awful thoughtless (except for the profit part) development. 🙁 🙁
