Minor tweaks & changes
I’ve decided to use the EmailWhiteLister plugin instead of requiring everyone to sign up with TypeKey in order to comment. If you posted a comment here recently, you probably won’t be affected because I manually entered a bunch of email addresses from the most recently approved comments. If you’re a first time commenter your comment will be held for approval (just the first time) and after that your comments will be published right away.
Sorry for the hassle.
Now, to get the ‘Remember Me’ to work!
Update: Well, while I was trying to get the ‘Remember Me’ to work, I actually got TypeKey working. How strange! So now you can sign in with TypeKey. If you don’t want to register with TypeKey you will be authenticated manually.
Let’s see what else I can get working by accident!
Update: Ok, ‘Remember Me’ is working for me. Is it working on your browser?
Good work, Josie. It’s a shame we have to go through all this because of those dastardly spammers! I have had pretty good luck with the anti-spam plugin included with Movable Type 3.2. I occasionally add suspect keywords and it has done a good job of holding spam for approval while immediately publishing valid comments.
‘Remember Me’ would be nice, but I’ll be very patient even though it’s not in my nature at all. š
I’ll let you know if ‘Remember Me’ is working for me. š
Yes, it works just fine now. I knew you could do it! Woohoo! š
Well that’s a relief. I was about to pull my hair out because I couldn’t figure it out! Turns out I just overlooked the tiniest bit of javascript! Sheesh! š
