Look what I can do
“My favorite is when someone asks me what I do and I tell them I’m a graphic artist and they go, ‘Oh? You’re a graphic artist? Yeah, I know how to do that. I know how to use Photoshop and layers and stuff.’ That’s like me going to the doctor and saying, ‘Oh? You’re a doctor? Yeah, I can do that. I know how to use a stethescope to listen to the heart and stuff.'”
aw yeah. they also use outer glow and heavy drop shadows together all at the same time and LOVE the “Mistral” font. [gag!] so does that make us snobs? har.
I’ve used Minstrella before. It’s Brushscript I can’t stand. And don’t even get me started on Comic GagMe Sans.
In recent years, with the advent of the afordable scanner and digital camera, every kid with a home computer and an epson stylus called themselves “graphic artists.”
It’s clear that you are a professional, you have an eye for balance & composition. Good Stuff.
Haha! Kids!!! Get off my porch!
I’ve got a shirt that says “Everyone’s a Designer”. Of course that’s sarcasm at its best. I think a Designer and Artist are very different and deserve very different compliments. The mediocre need not apply.
A designer, which some of you can relate, is someone who can come up with an earthshattering design, only to have the “client” run it through the mud, shit on it, have you redesign it to their “vision”, and expect it to be as good as you originally intended. Now a seasoned designer is one that has lost many nights sleep over compromise and convention. One that has “put on the fishnets and danced”.
An artist does great work and does even better when dead.
God bless us on the roads we choose, for we design for a living!!!
Nice , very nice.
