Island Hopping
So we’re off early tomorrow morning to the lovely island of Rota for our anniversary weekend. I’ve never been to Rota, but I already know it’s lovely. For one thing, everyone I know who has been there tells me that the people in Rota love to wave hello to visitors. Is there anything lovelier than that?
I called the hotel in Rota where we’ll be spending the night and asked if they could pick us up from the airport. The cost is $6 per person, I was told. I asked the girl if it would be cheaper to take a taxi from the airport. “We don’t have taxis in Rota,” came her reply. More loveliness!
I’ve been tasked by The Mother-in-Law to collect and bring home a bag of “the sea urchin spines that just cover the beaches there.” I think she wants to turn them into necklaces. Or something. Other than that, the only thing we have planned is to rent a scooter and put-put around the island, taking in the sights and attractions. A lot of waving too, I imagine.
Anyway, we’ll be back Sunday night. Hope you have a great weekend. Be excellent to each other.
Have a good trip Josie! There’s something there called Wedding Cake … Plateau, Island, Mountain? I dunno ..
