Elaina here, Education Coordinator for UnderWater World. I just wanted let you know about a worthwhile environmental event happening this weekend. I am sure you all appreciate our beautiful beaches and reefs, so here is an opportunity for all of us to give back to the environment.
11th Annual International Coastal Clean-up
Date: Saturday, September 17, 2005
Start Time: 7:00 am
Clean-up Locations: Paseo, Piti (near Fish Eye), Pago Bay, Tanguisson/NCS Beach, Gun Beach, Dungca’s Beach, Taga’chang Beach, Ipan Beach Park, Nimitz Beach, Agat Beach, Inarajan Bay, Merizo Shore, Umatac Shore, Rick’s Reef Beach, Talofofo Bay, Marine Lab
Dive sites: USO/Piti Channel (call Guam Tropical Dive Station for more info: 477-2774); Agat Bay (call Micronesian Divers Association for more information: 472-1632)
Note that all participants will receive a t-shirt (first come-first serve), free admission to UWW, and free admission to Fish Eye Marine Park on the day of the event.
UnderWater World is overseeing the Tanguisson/NCS beach site, but we encourage you to participate at any site near you.
No pre-registration is required, just show up at any of the sites listed above. Bring your friends and family and let’s clean up our beaches!

Islanders, I really hope you guys can make it to a clean-up site near you for this very worthy event. For you off-island folks, if you live near the water I encourage you to check into a coastal clean-up effort happening in your area this coming Saturday.
Awesome! I hope there’s a big turn out for that. I wish more people would do their share in cleaning the beaches here in South Texas or at least wish they would enforce the littering fines. Our beaches are sad.
