A Perfect Day [v.1]
Sunday before Labor Day
8:00 am
I wake up gently and my mind is at ease because I have nothing to do and nowhere pressing to be. Outside the sun is shining, the trade winds are blowing and the temperature is nice and bearable. Even the cats are in a good mood.
9:00 am
I import Ron from San Diego for breakfast. I take him to Brutus since he’s never been. He laughs at me and reminds me that ten years ago I used to beg him to let me watch him photoshop stuff. I tell him that if he hadn’t said yes, I might not have my (then) dream job today. (Seriously…I owe this man.)
10:00 am
I make my way over to GPO and import Annalynn from LA for magazine and book browsing at Bestseller. We window shop and on the way out I pick up a honeydew bubble tea with lychee gel at the food court.
11:00 am
Pedicure at Cura at the Acanta Mall with Ang and Mimi. The lady doing my nails paints a flower on my big toe and doesn’t charge me for it.
12:00 pm
Lunch at Jamaican Grill with Julie, Joephet and Henry. I have the steamed yellowfin in coconut milk and it only takes them 5 minutes to prepare my meal.
1:30 pm
I go home and put myself down for a nap.
3:00 pm
Swimming and snorkeling at Fisheye with Roel and Phil. There is absolutely no current and we move through the water effortlessly. The sun is high and bright, the water crystal clear. Today I don’t forget to bring food for the fishies.
6:30 pm
Dinner at Fuji Ichiban with Gerald, imported from IN. Miso ramen with extra noodles and sweet corn. Don’t forget the gyoza and iced tea.
8:00 pm
Happy Hour with Gene (HI) and Vince (SF) at Mike’s. The boys from Renaissance show up and we are treated to a private Renaissance reunion show outside on Mike’s huge patio. This is especially perfect on a perfect day because I’ve missed the last 10 reunion shows.
2:00 am
Home. Almost immediately I fall asleep to the whirring sound of the ceiling fan. Today was a good day.
With all the overtime, I’m working this makes me miss full weekends even more. But I have to say I think you missed out by not getting Cold Stone at GPO.
Mmm… Cold Stone. I would concur.
hey, is that 8 o’clock one me?
Critics! I prefer Haagen-Dazs, ok? lol
V, that IS you.
um, i know that this is your ficitional day- you know, this sunday before labor day thingy- but just for the record that happens to be my bday, and i will probably request your presence at more than just lunch! 😉
(plus henry and joephet are both flakes-thats right, i am calling them out)
That is a perfect day! I think you got the same lady who did my toenails. She’s quite good.
Oh it sounds wonderful. I sure hope you do it. Please post on L13 if you achieved your perfect Sunday. We will be cheering for you.
sounds perfect indeed. so honored to be included in your perfect day!
I miss bubble tea.

so happy you thought of me.. ahh…
so bittersweet J, oh how i wish i could be there to share that freshly brewed beverage with you. but alas the prospects of house mortgages and car payments have shackled me to my duties here. soon we will venture to that undiscovered country of fellowship that elludes us, soon my friend.
