7 Club Sandwiches In 7 Weeks: 2. Denny’s

For several weeks now, I’ve been on a club sandwich kick. I asked myself, who has the best club sandwich on island? I decided to find out. For the next few weeks, I’ll be reviewing club sandwiches served at various local joints. My scoring system will be based on the quality of the key ingredients & overall taste as well as presentation of the sandwich and quality of service. Now I’m no Food Guy, so take my reviews with a grain of salt. 🙂
Week 2: Denny’s
What it says on the menu:
Club Sandwich
Thinly sliced turkey breast, crisp bacon, lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise on toasted white bread. $7.85 with fries

The breakdown:
Bread – nicely toasted white bread
Cheese – no cheese
Meat – kinda crispy bacon and thin slices of deli turkey
Vegetables – crisp green romaine lettuce, under-ripe tomato on the dry side
Sauce – easy on the mayo

Taste: Slightly Above Average.
The Verdict: Better than King’s for sure, but still not fantastic. My search for the best continues. The seasoned fries are good!
Service: Very prompt seating and fast service. 13 minutes between placing order & first bite.
Score: 7/10
Next week: Horse and Cow (or Shirley’s)

hey josie! I was out eating the other day with my friends and I ordered a club sandwich. It wasn’t until I was half way through that I thought of you and your “7 Club Sandwiches in 7 Weeks.” I just wanted to tell you that if you ever come to Hawaii, go to Anna Miller’s Restaurant (24hrs. YAY!) and order their club sandwich. They have 11 different combinations!! My favorite is Combo #5: Turkey, Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato, AVOCADO, and chedder cheese. It also comes with two choices of sides…about 7 dollars..and it comes with a pickle (ew.).
I wish I had a picture but I think one of a half eaten sandwich would have done more harm than good. =)
good luck on your quest for the best club sandwich! ♥
