Who can it be now?

I hope the person who found this website today because they typed “josie moyer” in Google is not a collection agent or a disgruntled someone-or-other.
Receiving hits from a search engine referral that’s as specific as “josie moyer” (note the use of quotation marks) always leaves me feeling uneasy and a little more paranoid than usual. Especially when the visitor takes the time to look me up, logs over 60 page views in one session and doesn’t bother to say hello. That’s usually when I start wondering whether I should shut this site down, take up a new domain, and go incognita.
Judging by my site stats, there are quite a number of visitors who show up here almost daily and for whatever reason choose to slip in and out quietly. There is nothing wrong with that. I’m just curious to know who’s visiting and why they’ve come. And it would be so great to put a face to an IP address.

Actually, your website should be nominated as the islandwide tourist pictorial guide. I wouldn’t be surprised if ev’ryone had typed “paradise”, and encountered this blog.
C’mon, bask in the glory as a cyber celeb, will ya?

I think your site’s great. Maybe some homesick Guamie off-island was looking at your site and clicked on all your pictures? That’s my guess …

I have been known to view your site with out saying “hello,” so I wouldn’t worry about your new fan… And your pictures are fucking awsome, I always look through all your pictures and show my east coast co-workers where I used to live.

It was me, me ME! Actually it wasn’t. I’m not that computer saavy. Hey, I did like the Wedding pics I found though. Cute…;)

Well, you know I’ve been a fan for a while, so you shouldn’t be alarmed if you get hits from my neck of the woods. I don’t usually say much, but I should compliment you on your talents more often. You’re photos are really good. Whenever I get homesick I just check out all the guam sites that I have bookmarked… hope you don’t mind.

  6. Josie says:

You guys are AWESOME! Thanks for taking the time to say hello. What a great start to my day.

  7. Josie says:

Arnold, I totally FORGOT about the archived wedding pics! HAHA!

Hello Josie, I’m probably one of those people whom you feel drop into your site without saying hello. Been a fan of your site ever since being a med student in New York and a resident on Hawaii. I enjoyed trying to guess the movie after you posted a couple of lines from them. *Still remembering proudly getting “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” right*. Mostly though, I just enjoy your random musings and cool photos. Take care.

Dr. Que, now THAT is old-school. The movie thing was fun, maybe I should bring it back once in a while. Hmm.

Please don’t freak. I did a search in Google with quotation marks to find out more about you… I’ve been a graphic artist and/or art director on Guam for the past 17 years and haven’t had the honor of working with you. YOU ARE QUITE TALENTED – your photo work is exceptional… I was just curios to see who you are. I noticed some photos taken at Photoworks and I’m pretty tight with the guys there… so I asume you work in the industry. If I have caused you some unwanted stress, please forgive me. Keep up the good work. You should be recognized.

  11. Josie says:

Well, hallelujah, it’s not a collection agent or a creepy stalker type.
Awesome! I am doing the happy dance.

  12. Donna says:

Josie, I come here regularly to view your photos. I love the ones you take around the island. I’m so far away from home that coming here gives me a home away from home feeling! So, thank you!

Whoa! That’s a whole lot of confessin’ going on!
You do have a the premier site for photos of Guam, though, Jos. I’m just getting caught up myself…a floral hammer? Who knew it could be so cute?

    Hi Josie,
Wasn’t me, but….. I had your site bookmarked AGES ago and think that I originally found it as a link from someone’s else’s weblog. Anyhow, he seems to have disappeared a while ago without a trace. While clearing out my favourites recently, I rediscovered your site, and wondered if you might have a new link to what was once http://www.lanceriley.com ? I used to love reading his daily adventures and probably caused him similar concerns to the ones you have just mentioned. I hope not but anyway, I won’t stop by without saying hello! Incidentally, I like your site too anyway. Cheerio….
    Lynne.

Josie, I have to say that you have an eye for photography! Your snapshots are stunning and really capture the moment and subject quite well. I purchased your 2004 calendar and I have to say that I was not impressed with the cheap quality of paper that was used and the small size. I felt that I had been cheated when I finally received the calendar and I was ashamed to give it away as a present. The price of the calendar that you put out suggested to me that it would be done on glossy print. I think that you should go glossy next time and if you have to charge more for it, then so be it! I will be happy to spend more for a calendar with your snapshots in it, especially with everyday Chamorros in scenic backdrops such as Tumon, Pago Bay overlook, etc. Please do not get offended as I am not trying to be critical. I love your photos and I just want them to be featured in the best way possible, especially when they are printed for distribution.

  21. Josie says:

Lynne, sorry but I have no idea what happened to lanceriley.com. Maybe he decided to start fresh under another domain. Good luck finding him.
Sean, I am sorry to hear you were less than pleased with your 2004 calendar. I had no control over the printing process as they were printed and sold via CafePress. I myself am very pleased with how nice it turned out. I just got a great kick out of having my photos printed as a calendar.

  22. BJ says:

I have had your site bookmarked for about two plus years now. Appreciate your eye and creativity. I used to work with the youth while on island, so I knew both your husband and his brother before he was.
Caught myself thinking about the island and thought to see it the link was still active. I usually do not sign guest books because it is to time consuming. Good luck and God bless both of you.

  23. Annalynn says:

    Josie –
Where is this calendar you and Sean are talking about — I want to buy one?

  24. Josie says:

No you don’t. It was a calendar for 2004 and would be useless to you now. I didn’t put one together for 2005. šŸ™

Upon recommendation by Raquel, I am reading your blog. I love your photos and am thinking about showing it off to my new co-workers. I also stole the joke about the couple in the train car who were pretending they were married and sent it out my my friends via email. Your site ROCKS! I’m going to be reading the entire thing in the next day or so. Right now, I’ve gotta get my baby to sleep!
