Petite Auberge (A small inn)

Hey, I watched a Will Smith movie over the weekend and I didn’t hate it!
We spent most of Sunday switching around the two bedrooms downstairs. The bigger of the two used to be the office and the smaller was the junk/storage room. Now, the bigger room is an actual guest room and the smaller room is the office/junk/storage room. There’s still a lot of work to be done, and you can bet a whole lot of “throwing out” will be involved. We’re getting ready for company, you see. The In-Laws are coming to town in April and will spend two weeks with us. Have mercy!
Addi’s parents are actually going to be staying on Guam for six months and are currently looking for a place to lease short-term (so if you know of a place, let me know). My father-in-law is retired Navy and my mother-in-law works for the Maryland Senate which I’m told is only in session six months out of the year, so that affords them to come out together and spend time with their “island kids” Addison and his brother Jason. You remember Jason, he and his wife just had twin girls.
So Addi and I are on a mission to declutter (not that there is a lot of clutter at our house) and make all those small house repairs we’ve let sit because they don’t bother us much. Like replacing the screen in the backdoor that kitty ripped open because she was tired of waiting to be let in. And replacing the showerhead in the bathroom downstairs because I just discovered it only shoots water out one single hole because of all the calcium and lime buildup (we never use the tub downstairs so it’s a good thing I tested it!). Stuff like that. We’re excited not only because Addi’s parents are coming to visit, but also because they will be our first houseguests ever! (My brother house-sat for us a few times, but I don’t think that’s the same thing because we weren’t home.) I feel like I’m getting ready for the grand opening of Moyer Cottage bed & breakfast.
Hm. Except that at our house you’ll probably be making your own breakfast.
