O.O.G.

(Only On Guam)

Uh, no thanks. I think I’d rather earn OnePass miles buying gas from Mobil.
OnePass miles won’t give me gout, heart disease, diabetes and who knows what else.
I’ll never understand why my people love Spam so much. As a matter of fact, a few years ago a special Hot & Spicy Spam was developed just for Guam. Beat that!

Because SPAM is so good. Salty & fatty, with all that great goodness. Spam keleguen, spam patties, spam and eggs, tabasco spam, spam burgers… Yummmm. Ack…plbbtt…aiyee!!!! my heart……I need a diet pepsi…
I remember when AK Toyota used to give away a free case of SPAM and a 50 pound sack of rice if you test drove a car, long time ago.
    Long Live SPAM
On another note: I can’t believe Gas is cheaper in Guam than in Hawaii!!! When was this taken.

You crack me up with the diet pepsi. lol
I might go for a sack of rice and a case of Hormel Chili but I’m not much of a Spam fan.
I took this picture yesterday. Can’t imagine it would be much more expensive in Hawaii.

I like fried spam with sticky rice because my mom used to make it for me when I was growing up. Spam is very popular in Hawaii as I found out when I was there this summer. ;D
I guess it’s good you’re not crazy about Spam. That way you can have more malassadas! Hehe

Hafa Adai! This is the 2003 Guam Spam Queen. My recipe won me a round trip to the mainland and a VIP tour of the Spam museum. Oh, did I mention I am a white girl?
    Here is my winning recipe.

Jennifer that’s pretty awesome. I’m going to try your recipe. Thanks!

LOL!! I’d love to win that. Hopefully it’s jasmine rice and not calrose. I remember going to parties and piling up my plate and getting diet pepsi. Too funny. I love my spam crispy and dipped in mafran. Sound like I have to have that for breakfast tomorrow.

  7. Erica says:

Oh my, the gas prices are so expensive. The prize is so local. I’d like to win that except I don’t live on Guam and I don’t eat meat.

  8. dukduk says:

actually hot and spicy was made for hawaii

  9. Josie says:

In the article I linked to, Shawn Radford, the Spam museum manager says the product was developed for Guam.

“We actually make a particular can just for Guam, that’s called hot and spicy. We do have a hot and spicy can that’s sold in the U.S. However, hot and spicy made for Guam is really hot and really spicy,” says Radford.

Here’s a link to photos of the “Guam” hot & spicy spam with the back of the label showing a recipe for Shirley’s Fried Rice.

Hafa chick or doot. What do you mean, “I’ll never understand why my people love Spam so much”.
Lanya, maybe you need to go tru another typhoon. Because after 1 week of no power, no ice box, sitting in your car in your yard just so you can feel air con cuz you dont have generator, having to go down to Ypan to get water from the beach faucet so u can shower, etc… then fried Spam slices sangwich between 2 piece of toasted corn tatiyas will definitely taste as good as lobster!
