I was asking for it, he says

No love to the officer who took my call at the Hagatna Precinct last night. When I told him the story of how Ben came to be on our lawn and why I needed help, he said, “Well ma’am, you let him stay there last night. When you encourage that kind of behavior you’re pretty much just asking for it.”
What a jerk! I’ll bet he he’s the sort of man who thinks a girl who puts on a short skirt and a tube top is pretty much asking to be sexually assaulted.

Just because he is an Officer of the Peace doesn’t mean he has all the common sense in the world. This I learned from very good friends who are in Law Enforcement, and have to work around morons of the same caliber…

Not cool. Don’t you hate it when you give someone the benefit of the doubt & you get berated for it? How lame. You couldn’t have known. Mr. Policeman lacks tact. Totally not your fault.

Officer X sounds like a jerk! There are a lot of other names that we can give him. But for the sake of keeping this site clean and hate-free, we won’t go there. :p I hope karma bites him in the ass for being an ass though.

how does one draw the line between patience/compassion/help and “you’re asking for it”? not to defend the officer’s attitude, but he might be right about ben. ben will hang out where ever he can until he’s pushed on.
when i read your first post, i laughed. because my guess was that ben would still be there when you got home. even funnier when i read he had expanded his homesteading.
but kudos to you josie for giving a little. people will say lots of things, but that doesn’t make them right. you are still my hero!

That’s the thing with being nice, sometimes it bites you in the ass. Also, I know if I were in your shoes, I’d feel horrible afterwards; but it has to be done.

So is Ben-Ben still in your yard?

Ben is gone. I saw him yesterday hanging out at the Chalan Pago Shell Station, so I guess moved somewhere in the vicinity.
