I just knew that if Latitude13 or aspects of Latitude13 somehow turned into a job, this site would suffer from severe neglect. On the one hand, I can't tell you how amazed I am that people who like what I do here (on L13) pay me money to do the same thing for their magazines. It's almost unbelievable. On the other hand, when something you enjoy doing as a hobby suddenly turns into a job, the hobby becomes less and less spontaneous and not as fun as it used to be.
So I've been thinking about what to do with L13 that will keep it fresh and fun. I've been publishing to the internet for over a decade and I'm not going anywhere. I love this webspace, I love sharing things with you, and I love connecting with people here. One of the things I've become pretty good at over the last few months is making lists of things centered around a theme. I think that might be something cool I can start up here. Lists like "5 Fun Things to do in Tumon under $40" and "5 Best Snorkeling Spots." Stuff like that. What do you think?
I've been updating to Twitter a lot because it's so easy to do and I can update from anywhere. That's not to say I can't do the same here on L13, but right now the appeal of Twitter is just being able to post bite-sized chunks of whatever's in my head at the moment. The posts on L13 have always been longer and a little more drawn out and detailed. I think the list thing will be fun because there's content, it's short, and I can spit things out off the top of my head.
Anyway, I just wanted to let you know I'm here and I'm almost ready to get back in the swing of things and make this space useful and fun again. The return of adventures (which I have done a lot of, just haven't posted), the return of the Where Am I? game (now regularly featured in GU Magazine) and the coming of new content. Game on!
good to have you back. i also have neglected my own blog in the wake of finishing up school...no excuse....
