Get To The Point
Monday, April 7, 2008

I've decided to start using an earplug while I'm at the various music gigs I regularly frequent. I started this on Saturday by sticking a small wad of napkin in my good ear and, wow, it totally made a difference. Nothing sounded muted between sets and I didn't feel the need to pop my ear. Bert gave me the idea when I noticed he wore earplugs while he played. I'm already half-deaf so it's probably wise to protect what little hearing I have left. Earplugs always come in pairs so I guess I'll always have a spare. heh.

Speaking of gigs I regularly frequent, you've seen pictures of all the bands, but have you ever heard any of them play? Here's Counterpoint playing my favorite version of Josie by Steely Dan.

Isn't it nice?

That's Mike Hartendorp singing and playing piano,
Jude Cruz on bass,
Dave Santos on percussion and backup vocals,
Santino Sgambelluri on guitar and backup vocals,
and Mike DiAmore on sax.

You can catch Counterpoint at The Point (Sheraton) Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 9:30 pm. Patrick Palomo is the regular piano player for the band and Mike plays guitar.

I've seen/heard these guys in different bands through the years. They sound great! And, it's nice to see that Dave and Santino are still nice to look at too. :-)
