Guam Quarter
Monday, January 21, 2008
This is cool. First a stamp, now a coin: Guam to be featured on a U.S. commemorative quarter.
Ideas (your 25 cents? ha) for the Guam quarter design are being accepted via email (guamquarter@guam.gov) up until February 15.
Let's see.... Latte stone? Check. Guam Seal? Check. Proa? Check. Koko bird? Check.
I kid, but I'd bet money someone will come up with a design that crams all that AND a chamorro hut onto the face of a quarter.
It's a little easier than anticipated "Per the US Mint...
The image of George Washington as seen on the obverse of the 50 State Quarters® coins will remain unchanged. The reverse of each quarter will be distinctly different with images emblematic of the District of Columbia and each of the United States Territories.' So you only have to design one side of the coin :-)
Peace
how's about three latte stones-something plain and simple yet, an icon of our island, along with the marianas
