Fugitive Boy Band Manager and Scam Artist On Guam
Friday, June 15, 2007

Lou Perlman, the man who helped forge the careers of the Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC (among others) was busted in Indonesia and has been transported to Guam where he is due to appear in court to answer to fraud allegations. He'd been on the run for 6 months.

I remember this guy from VH-1's 100 Greatest Shocking Moments in Rock & Roll. He hit *NSYNC with an unprecendented multi-million dollar lawsuit for breach of contract (#54) when the band tried to break up with him. Remember the video for Bye Bye Bye where the boys were all on marionette strings? I think it was right around that time.

It was just a few days ago that an *NSYNC and Backstreet Boys memorabilia auction took place to help raise money to pay back some of the allegedly defrauded investors. Only $200,000 was raised from the auction.

Island brothers and sisters, if you've been hoping to break into the pop industry, now's the time to call your uncle who works at GPD or your auntie who works at the court and get them to slip your demo tape to Lou. Hurry! Before Lou goes Bye Bye Bye.

We get all kinds of celebrities here on the island!
