"I'm your biggest fan!"
I am in the best mood ever because last night I found my new favorite local band.
If you are looking for a sound set apart from the typical happy hour acoustic jams, look no further because 8 Track Mind is coming at you live Thursday nights at Casa Nami. I can't tell you how refreshing it is to hear live music that does not include a dozen variations of Coldplay and Jason Mraz covers.
If you like hip-hop acts like Gym Class Heroes, Atmosphere, Pharcyde, and Visionaries, you will be as happy as I am that 8 Track Mind is finally playing to an audience after 8 months of rehearsals. Last night they performed the most awesome cover of Digable Planets' Rebirth of Slick (Cool Like Dat) and I was hooked and happily rapping along.
The only thing that makes me a little sad is that DJ Ronnie is going to spin at HOB Thursday nights starting next week and if it is at the same time as 8 Track Mind I will have to choose one or the other because if I listened to the best of hip-hop and house at HOB and then headed down to Casa for 8 Track Mind, surely my heart would explode from the joy of good music.

Ronnie P. was telling me earlier that week that I should re-book my flight to check out their debut...and I would've too, except I was travelling with my mom who would "drop me off" in Honolulu then take her connecting flight back to her home in San Diego.
I quit drinking and cussing years ago, but I just might start back up again since I missed it!!!!! Oh well, I'll be back there soon enough...
