It just wouldn't be a Liberation Day parade if it didn't rain, and this year's parade was no different. It was beautiful the first hour we were there (typical), but around 11:30 it started to pour. From then on it alternated between pouring, raining, and drizzling. It was still wet when we left at 2:00.
The Husband and I were onscreen for about five seconds during the televised broadcast of the parade. Did you see us?
However hard or long it rained, the weather did not kill the spirit of the parade or the enthusiasm of the thousands of people who lined Marine Drive to watch and celebrate. Everywhere people were smiling, waving and greeting one another in love and peace. I love that kind of contagious enthusiasm.
When I am tired in the evening because I smiled and cheered too much during the day, it has been a very good day indeed.
Hey Carolyn. They didn't go with the globe (I saw the sketches--nice! Reminded me of Michael Jackson's Heal the World superbowl halftime performance, which I loved). Anyway, they went with something boxy and plain. I do have pictures, which I will send you via email. For to post them here would be to give away where I work and I've got to keep The Stalker(s) at bay. Know what I'm saying?
